As Spring finally hits here in the Northeast, there’s one essential item that you’ll see throughout farms, gardens, and elsewhere outdoors: the Muck Boot. Boots made by the company have reshaped footwear for farmers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere, providing a waterproof, hardy product that handles the muck and mire that you find in the countryside. New for 2025, Muck Boot has introduced the Men’s Harvester Mid Boot, which they have provided a set of for this review. For those with larger calves looking for something comfortable to wear all day long, this is a great alternative to their full-height boots. They also fit nicely into or over a pair of boot cut jeans, and the molded heel kick-off is a great option for hands-free removal at the end of the day. The olive green color is a nice change of pace as well when compared to some more drab offerings on the market.

Comfort is a feature of the Harvester series boots, with 4mm of memory foam included in the molded footbed. While there is a bit of a break-in period to the boot, it quickly becomes very comfortable and fit to your individual foot shape. The sheet rubber construction proved to not only be 100% waterproof as claimed, but also provided a great barrier to thick brambles and thorns as I worked to clear out multifloral rose and locust saplings that were overtaking an area near my barn.

The rubber lugged outsole provided plenty of grip on wet and uneven terrain throughout my time wearing them. I was also pleased to find that, compared to other waterproof boots I’ve owned in the past, there was enough airflow through the boot that I never found my feet to get overly sweaty, even when temperatures crept past 82 degrees Fahrenheit one sunny afternoon. While they only come in a medium width, the natural flexibility of the rubber allowed my wide foot to fit very comfortably. Another nice feature is the quadruple-layer heel and toe for extra durability and protection against stubbing a toe on an unexpected rock in the field or while using a shovel.

Overall, the Harvester Mid Boot is a great option for those looking for a waterproof and muck proof boot to handle anything that comes their way. Form fits function in a thoughtful and well-designed boot, showing that The Original Muck Boot Company isn’t ready to rest on their laurels when it comes to new products.
